What would you do with an extra hour each day

Reflecting on this question, I realized once again that I am not on top of my time management game.

In fact as I am writing this, I am dawdling between judging myself for using this business-like jargon to sound smart enough even though it was instant reflex by conditioning and judging myself for not being focused enough so I can seize each day.

I mean, who cares about semantics? Yet it is so important. The irony though, is that I only play games that are fun, and time management does not quite fit into that category for me.

Yet again, who says a game has to be fun? It is simply a prolonged period of play, and sometimes playing is not fun, it can be gruelling, tiring and painful. Yet at the end, there is exploration, discovery and experience. Oops, actually that sounds fun again. A game can be about being strategic, and at its worse, manipulation. Yucks. Am I guilty too of being manipulative in some ways sometimes?

Point is, experience on hindsight is probably fun no matter what the Game of Life dealt us with. In any case, I make a mental note to go back to time chunking and scheduling what is important for me to move the needle in the areas of my life.

I am working on and take good care of my soul longings at the same time.

And here’s musing for yet another 3 minutes so I can get down a list of what I think I can or want to do with an extra hour a day:

If I had an extra hour each day, I would sit and appreciate the sunset with my loved ones.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would write 3 different posts for my social media pages.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would cuddle with my daughter and share our stories for the day.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would jump on the trampoline with my daughter for 15 minutes, laugh for 5, and then sit and eat ice-cream and chat together for the rest of the time.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would gift it to someone who doesn’t have time to spend with their family.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would make some yummy homemade vegan desserts.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would take and give massages to loved ones.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would write notes to all my loved ones and tell them how much I appreciate them.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would grow some plants, vegetables and flowers.

If I had an extra hour each day, I would open it up for people to make random requests so I can support them in any way I can and surprise myself.

Over to you, how would you answer this question?

Maybe you just want to sleep because you’ve been working too hard? Please do.

Maybe you want to play an instrument you’ve shelved for too long. Please do.

Maybe you would like to be still and do nothing. Maybe meditate, or sit back and watch the clouds, or chill with a beverage somewhere. Please do.

Give yourself whatever your soul longs for and fill your cup with that ‘extra hour’. Or maybe it’s time to end your procrastination. Either way, it’s going to be fun.
